Instagram Posts

A small part of my job entails making Instagram posts for the Alice 97.3 Instagram. There are many people who are in charge of this account, but sometimes if there hasn't been a post on certain days, then the interns are the ones to post. An instagram account is about getting listeners engaged with the company, even when they aren't listening to the show. Instagram is the perfect way to do this because you can post about anything on the account and try to get people to interact with it. Some of the common things that we post about that aren't about the show specifically include Holidays, food recipes of Sarah and Vinnie, or anniversaries of big events. People like to see these posts because they feel more a part of the show since they are able to interact with the posts by liking, commenting, or sharing. Instagram is not the only social media that the station has, but it is the only one that the interns typically post on.

One of the posts that we made on the account was for the 30th anniversary of the Loma Prieta earthquake. Not only is this important to remember, but since many people who live in San Francisco were affected by this quake, it is important to the followers that we make a post about it. Believe it or not, if there is a large event that happens in San Francisco, or near, and the station doesn't post about it, people may be upset, thinking that we just don't care enough about it.
